The Jose Marti International Airport is the largest and busiest airport in Cuba serving more than 4 million passengers each year. It's located in the town of Boyeros, 15 km (9 miles) southwest of Havana (Cuba's capital city).
Havana Airport is the hub for the Cuban airlines "Cubana de Aviacion", "Aerogaviota" and "AeroCaribbean", and it also handles flights for more than 25 international airlines.
It is named in memory of the famous Cuban patriot and poet Jose Marti. The "Aeropuerto Internacional Jose Marti" has four passenger terminals and one freight terminal. The current José Martí Airport in 1930 replaced the Columbia Airfield, which was the first airport to serve Havana.
