It was just last weekend when the Cancun Airport exceeded 500 operations in one day, this time the number was not that high, but it seems that the airport is recovering notably from the pandemic.
According to ASUR (Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste), the Airport has kept a high operation on national and international flights during the last weeks. 453 flights which 226 were arrivals, 86 nationals, and 140 international flights were scheduled on Sunday, June 27. As well as 227 departures, 93 nationals, and 134 international departures.
The international airlines operating on Sunday, June 27 were: Aero Airlines, Air Portugal, Alaska, American, Avianca, Cóndor, Copa, Delta, Frontier, Iberojet, Jet Blue, Láser, Latam, Nordwind, Southwest, Spirit, Sun Country, United, Viva Air, Wamos.

These are great news, being that the pandemic has been tough times for everyone. It’s been a year since the first international flight arrived in Cancun after the lockdown. And now it seems that Cancun International Airport is going on the right way for a complete recovery. There’s still a long way to go, but every day is getting better, the main goal is to back to the numbers before the pandemic.
